"Three Translations of The Koran (Al-Qur'an) side by side"

017.054
Y: It is your Lord that knoweth you best: If He please, He granteth you
mercy, or if He please, punishment: We have not sent thee to be a
disposer of their affairs for them.
P: Your Lord is Best Aware of you. If He will, He will have mercy on
you, or if He will, He will punish you. We have not sent thee (O
Muhammad) as a warden over them.
S: Your Lord knows you best; He will have mercy on you if He pleases, or
He will chastise you if He pleases; and We have not sent you as being
in charge of them.
017.055
Y: And it is your Lord that knoweth best all beings that are in the
heavens and on earth: We did bestow on some prophets more (and other)
gifts than on others: and We gave to David (the gift of) the Psalms.
P: And thy Lord is Best Aware of all who are in the heavens and the
earth. And we preferred some of the prophets above others, and unto
David We gave the Psalms.
S: And your Lord best knows those who are in the heavens and the earth;
and certainly We have made some of the prophets to excel others, and to
Dawood We gave a scripture.
017.056
Y: Say: "Call on those - besides Him - whom ye fancy: they have neither
the power to remove your troubles from you nor to change them."
P: Say: Cry unto those (saints and angels) whom ye assume (to be gods)
beside Him, yet they have no power to rid you of misfortune nor to
change.
